Canadians took part in many hard struggles to help the Allies to victory during the Second World War. D-Day and the Battle of Normandy was one of the best-known chapters of the entire conflict and our service members would play an important role in this pivotal campaign.
The Royal Canadian Legion is calling for robust action after learning that Canada’s extraordinary Canadian Armed Forces members may be facing unnecessary risks. Media reports of insufficient equipment and support – whether while in garrison or deployed - must be taken seriously.
The Legion’s Ontario Command, its Branches, and Ladies’ Auxiliaries have made a crucial donation to Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC) to help continue its work to pair more Veterans with life-changing service dogs. These exceptional dogs are trained to help reduce Veteran anxiety in public settings, redirect attention to more positive activities, help with nightmare interruption and in stabilizing sleep patterns.
Ask a Legion member what it means to be part of a group that cares deeply for Veterans, and you’ll hear words like “a very positive experience” or “saved my life.” You’ll also hear about fun and comradeship.
28 February 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the end of the Gulf War. After Iraq invaded Kuwait, Canada joined a coalition of more than 35 countries to help liberate the small Gulf nation. More than 4,000 Canadians served in the Gulf War.

The last of the funding allocated to The Royal Canadian Legion by Veterans Affairs Canada was disbursed this week. In the third and final distribution phase, 885 Branches shared the remaining $3.8 million. Read More
